Great food and service, they went out of their way to deliver food to one of my events and it was great. Beautiful drive, it's worth the trip

I well remember lunch at the Cafe back in 1996, when a journey in search of the location of Uncle Johnny Root's saloon -- where, in 1898 N. Howard "Jack" Thorp first sang "Little Joe the Wrangler" in public -- brought me to Weed. From the Cafe, they called Miss Cordelia Lewis, who was then alive, and who not only knew the location, but also invited a traveling companion and myself up to her ranch house to visit and talk. Weed, Miss Lewis and the cafe are etched into my mind.
